Which web hosting bandwidth and disk space opinion is right for me?

Posted under Setup Twitter by admin

I already have a web hosting site recommended by a tech-savvy friend, and at this point I just need to know what kind of setup works best.

The packages offered are as follows:
Budget- 500MB disk, 10GB/m bandwidth
Basic- 1GB, 20GB
Advanced- 2GB, 50GB
Business- 5GB, 100GB
Enterprise- 10GB, 200GB

I intend to use the site for blogging, hosting my portfolio, maybe a twitter feed, images, and such. I don’t expect a lot of traffic, as the site is for personal/networking/business purposes. I imagine that I don’t need a lot of disk space or bandwidth for this, but what is the minimum package required to satisfy my needs?

Thanks in advance.

Start with the budget plan. Other than images, you don’t need much disk space. If you find that you need more space, you can expand the plan later. (Just write the site, gather up the images and see how much space you need. Blogging is saved in the database, so you won’t need much disk space added when you add entries.)

  2. Robert S Said,

Since http://www.diywebhosting.ca/hosting/shared/ offers monthly payments, start with the cheapest plan. ($4.99 /month) It would probably be more than enough for your site. If you need more disk space/bandwidth later on you can switch to some other plan.
