My internet addiction has screwed up my life I even lost my friends. Can you help? Read below…?

away because my parents have caught me on the internet and im not even suppossed to have access to it. Im only 13 and my parents hate it because im always chatting I know the rules they just dont understand and my dad is a computer engineer so he always can know when I go on. I have a Myspace, Twitter, Stickam, Skype, Facebook, Gaia, Youtube, AIM, Windows Live Messnger, WeeWorld, IMVU, Sims, and Habboo and so much more online accounts… and I think Im a internet addict I even go on the internet at friends house I take my dads Internet Setup Cables I even go on my Wii and Nintendo DSi… I dont know but when Im on the internet I feel so free like I can be who I am, the Inner me.
But I cant take it anymore Im sick of not having my parents trust me anymore.

There was a incident last Summer with 3 of my new but best friends named Peri, Maddie, and Daisy. It was my friend Daisys slumber party on August 1st 2009 we went on this website which I used to be a BIG addict to its called www.gaiaonline.com although Im not anymore but we were all talking to this 17 year old guy named Kato who lived in Minnesota and we all are not suppossed to talk to strangers and he sent a message saying "tell my mom and dad i luv dem." so we all thought he was going to run away (turns out he wasnt and we later found out he was 10) so the next morning these twins mom picked them up from the party and they told their mom what happened turns out someone heard wrong they heard "we r both running away and then we r gonna meet up." which was completley different so that mom told my friends mom then she told my mom and then the next day my friends mom told Maddies mom and her mom told Daisys mom and now all those familys dont want me hanging out with their kids.

Although Maddie and Daisy tell me to this day "i wish we were still friends." I miss them! They are still incredibly nice to me though and we still talk in class but not outside of school.

Is there a way I can stop my internet addiction, earn everyones trust back, and win my friends back?

Try your best not to get on the internet when you’re not supposed to, for one. The less you’re on the computer, the less addicting it will become. Maybe you should try a new hobby, like drawing, writing, reading, playing a sport, or whatever you’re interested in to take the place of the computer.

You can also try talking to your mom about what really happened at Daisy’s party. You can mention that you feel you’ve grown so much more mature since then, and that you’re not as addicted to the internet as you once were. Tell her how much you miss your friends, and maybe she can talk your friends’ parents into letting you hang out with your friends again.
